Johanna Gronneberg Mesa was born at Nesodden outside of Oslo in Norway in 1979. She attended Griffith University in Australia, where she completed her bachelor in Journalism. Eager to start work and climbing the ladder, Johanna travelled to Bismarck North Dakota where she landed a job as a news reporter for KXMB- News 12. She also kept up her soccer career there by attending University of Mary as a television production student and playing for the UMARY womens team. After some years overseas Johanna returned to Norway where she worked as a host for TV2, TVNorge and also as a journalist for TV2 Nettavisen.
Johanna was headhunted by MTV to work as a producer for them in Stockholm Sweden, helping building the beginning of Norwegian MTV. After a year of producing for MTV in Europe, she landed a job as an MTV VJ in New York. She became the first Norwegian to ever work onscreen for MTV USA. Johanna completed four seasons hosting the MTV hit chart show, US Top 20, and several interviews for MTV News in New York.
In 2007 Johanna returned to Norway to host two prime time shows for TV3. Gossip and Snutter. After completing two seasons she went back to Los Angeles to continue her work as an MTV VJ. Johanna was in 2010 one of the women with the TVNorge prime time show, Ja Vi Elsker Hollywood.
In 2012 she landed her own docu-reality show at TLC and Discovery Channel. The show, Johanna: Project Baby followed Johanna and her husband Vincent during the last months of pregnancy and up to the birth of their first daughter Savannah. The first season aired to great ratings and reviews over 8 episodes on TLC. Season two airs November 2013 as Johanna and Vincent are continuous their work with TLC.
Johanna has always had her heart with fitness and training others and while in Los Angeles she found time to recall that world. She studied at the American College of Sports Medicine and got her degree as certified Personal Trainer. She worked with Equinox in LA and also took on private clients. Building up a large client base she became known as the “Norwegian Celebrity trainer”. Johanna has later developed her own fitness method named Plyomind.
Johanna currently spends her time between her home city of Oslo, Norway and Los Angeles. She is these days busy with her TV projects but also her upcoming book project and her fitness products. In 2014 Johanna also became a Radio Host at Radio Norge in Norway.
