Every year Santa comes to our house for Christmas, as we grow older we of course learn that Santa is one of our neighbours dad or a friend of our brother. But we could really never tell. This year we celebrated Christmas early at my mom’s place in Norway. Mom decided to be Santa herself this year and we all waited in excitement to see how she would pull this off. She wanted to make sure Savannah had no idea it was her and took it down to planning each little detail that could give it away. Even her shoes she changed so that 2 year old Savannah wouldn’t get suspicious. And we could all admit that when mom walked in that front door she definitely looked like a legit Santa. The problem only showed when she started talking…cause mom totally forgot to change her voice (!) The whole ho ho ho and «are there and kind kids around here» got totally lost in a confused Savannah looking at what she clearly heard was her grandma dressed up as Santa. Savannah even asked right away, straight out: Momo? Mom didn’t answer of course, she wasn’t momo – she was Santa.
Mom did stay as Santa or momo dressed up as Santa for the rest of the visit before she left out the front door and into the cold winter night. Savannah did think it was a bit weird that momo was just gonna leave us like that but she seemed ok when momo came back shortly after. The questions all came to her later….
Because when we got to our other home in California, where we are celebrating Christmas this year. Savannah met the real Santa and she was mortified! What had happened to momo??
Merry Christmas everyone 🙂
